This specimen was lot 22705 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hannover. 16 Gute Groschen, 1826. NGC MS-63. Sharply struck with soft satin luster and light attractive toning." The sixteen gute groschen was half a thaler; unusually for a minor coin, it was almost pure silver. It was issued for Hannover 1820-34. The denomination was terminated when the thaler was reduced from 23.54 g to 16.82 g. This particular type of 1822-30 is the most common.
