Steve Album sale 54, lot 2527

This specimen was lot 2527 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $95. The catalog description^[1] noted, "HANOVER: George IV, 1820-1830, AR 1/24 thaler, 1826, a wonderful example, PCGS graded MS64." This type was struck 1826-28 for king George IV, who was also king of England (it is not recorded whether George IV ever set foot in his German domain) and was worth five kreuzer.

Recorded mintage: 139,000.

Specification: 1.94 g, 0.312 fine silver, 18.5 mm diameter.
