This specimen was lot 72284 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hannover. 2/3 Thaler, 1814-C. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Sharply struck with light toning and strong luster. Quite attractive." The old electorate of Brunswick-Luneburg was annexed by Napoleon in 1807. At the Congress of Vienna, it was restored as the kingdom of Hannover and ruled by the British kings until 1837. This is the more common of the two dates, 1813-14. The denomination was last struck in 1839 and the kingdom was annexed by Prussia in 1866.
