Hannover 1774-LCR thaler Dav-2110
This specimen was lot 4199 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$5,228 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, AB 1815 KÖNIGREICH HANNOVER Georg III., 1760-1820. Reichstaler 1774, Zellerfeld. Ausbeute der Grube Güte des Herrn. RR Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Sammlung Dr. Friedrich-Karl Günther. (electorate of Hannover, George III, 1760-1820, thaler of 1774, Zellerfeld mint, for the Goodness of the Lord mine. Very rare, fine patina, about extremely fine.)"
This is the last thaler issued by the elector to honor a specific mine. The "Goodness of the Lord" mine had been mentioned previously in 1756 on Dav-2100.
