Hannover 1743-IBH thaler Dav-2092
This specimen was lot 55583 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. Taler, 1743-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). Extremely Fine Details -- Mount Removed, Polished. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Ex: Westfaelische Auction 47, Lot 540." George II issued six different thalers in 1743, three with mintmaster initials "IBH". The very similar Dav-2092A, struck 1743, 1746-50 and 1755, has a more ornate shield.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
