This specimen was lot 2328 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it sold for $306. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guinea. 2000 Francs, 1970 Choice Brilliant Proof. For the 10th Anniversary of Independence. Apollo XIII. Choice Brilliant Proof." This type was issued in sets with a large number of silver 500 francs and gold 5000 francs, most likely distributed to the president's friends and cronies.
