This specimen was lot 1685 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUINEA: AV 1000 francs, 1970, commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Independence in 1968, heads of John and Robert Kennedy on the obverse, in the original wallet of issue, Proof." The regime had this and several other NCLT's made in 1970 but has issued little coinage since.

Recorded mintage: 6,600 for 1969-70.

Specification: 4 g, 0.900 fine gold.
