The first specimen was lot 263 in Aureo y Calicó sale 242 (Barcelona, March 2012), where it sold for 220 € (about US$342 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Fernando VII (1808-1833). 1820. Guatemala. M. 1 real. Insignificantes rayitas de acuñación. Bella. Brillo original. S/C-. (Ferdinand VII, 1808-33, one real of 1820, Guatemala mint. slight adjustment marks, very handsome, lustrous, about uncirculated)."

This specimen is one of a series struck 1811-1821 at Guatemala during the reign of Ferdinand VII (1808-33). The type is not rare but nice specimens always bring a premium.

Specification: 3.38 grams, 0.896 fine silver, .097 troy oz ASW.
