This specimen was lot 246 in Aureo y Calicó sale 242 (Barcelona, March 2012), where it sold for 200 € (about US$311 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Fernando VII (1808-1833). 1819. Guatemala. Cuarto de real. Bellísima. Brillo original. Rara así. S/C. (Ferdinand VII, 1808-33, quarter real of 1819, Guatemala mint. Very handsome, lustrous, uncirculated)."
This specimen is one of a series struck 1808-1821 at Guatemala during the reign of Ferdinand VII (1808-33). The type is not rare but nice specimens always bring a premium.
