Sincona sale 86, lot 1812

This specimen was lot 1812 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Half Sovereign 2013, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Fourth bust. Rare. Only 1,051 pieces struck. NGC MS68 DPL."

The half sovereign, or ten shilling coin, ceased to circulate after World War One but has been struck from time to time for sale to collectors. This type was struck 2009-2014.

Specification: 3.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, 19.3 mm diameter, this specimen 3.99 g.
