This specimen was lot 51119 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Florin, 1956. London Mint. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-65 Cameo. Surpassed in the PCGS population report by a single example, this incredibly appealing and enticing specimen delivers an enchanting combination of color and brilliance." The Elizabeth II florin was introduced in 1953 and redesigned in 1954 to drop "BRITT OMN" from the obverse and struck in that form until 1970. Proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 47,824,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 11.31 g, copper-nickel, 28.3 mm diameter, reeded edge.
