This specimen was lot 51113 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1949. London Mint. George VI. PCGS PROOF-66 Cameo. Just one of three proofs seen at PCGS for the date, and the only such example with the 'cameo' designation, this dazzling minor features virtually no toning and a resounding degree of brilliance." This type was struck 1949-52. It was the second copper-nickel sixpence and dropped "IND:IMP" from the reverse legend. It is common tho the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 41,336,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 2.82 g, copper nickel, 19.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
