This specimen was lot 51107 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Florin, 1949. London Mint. George VI. PCGS PROOF-64 Cameo. A RARE opportunity, this near-Gem proof issue presents a high degree of glistening brilliance and stands as the only such example seen in the PCGS census with the 'cameo' distinction." This type was struck 1949-51. It was the second copper-nickel florin and dropped "IND:IMP" from the reverse legend. It is common tho the proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 28,615,000 plus a few proofs.
