This specimen was lot 41789 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1898. London Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-65." This type was struck 1893-1901 and is the final type for Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901). It is the most readily available shilling in nice condition and none of the dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 9,769,000.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, 23.5 mm diameter.
