This specimen was lot 2145 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $84. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Shilling, 1897. Victoria. PCGS graded MS-64." This type was struck 1893-1901 and is the final type for Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901). It is the most readily available shilling in nice condition and none of the dates are rare.
Recorded mintage: 6,270,000, a common date.
Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, 23.5 mm diameter.
