This specimen was lot 2717 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $114. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: Victoria, 1837-1901, AR shilling, 1896, an attractive lustrous example, PCGS graded MS62, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck 1893-1901 and is the final type for Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901). It is the most readily available shilling in nice condition and none of the dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 9,265,000.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter.
