This specimen was lot 34110 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $732. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Victoria 1/2 Crown 1897 MS66 PCGS. Immaculate surfaces bearing iridescent rainbow tone - a premium gem of scarcely paralleled quality." This type was struck 1896-1901 and is reasonably common in circulated condition. Half a crown was two and a half shillings or thirty pence.
