This specimen was lot 29927 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Proof Florin 1887 PR64 PCGS, Royal mint. Billowy tone traverses the surfaces and few surface disturbances are observed, with medium-gray base tone on the obverse and lighter saturation on the reverse." The reported mintage includes a substantial quantity of young head double florins (KM 746.4) dated 1887. This is the commonest date of a type struck 1887-92.

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver, reeded edge, 28.3 mm diameter.
