This specimen was lot 24315 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Sixpence 1886, Young Head, MS66+ PCGS, fabulous quality, crisp portrait and bold reverse, lovely satiny surfaces blessed with light silvery golden blue iridescence. The so-called 3rd Portrait type is remarkable for its finely detailed bust of a queen who had aged long before this coin was minted. This coin is common in AU, is normally seen quite marked up, but is sometimes available up to MS64. Any higher quality is very difficult to locate. As a certified PCGS MS66+, this specimen has to be among the finest known. From The Kairos Collection." This sixpence, roughly equal to a dime, was struck 1838-87 and is common in all grades.
