This specimen was lot 33444 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria 1/2 Crown 1874 MS63 NGC. A blast white example with minimal hairlines. A more than adequate example of the type. From The Bob Bennett Collection." The type was struck for circulation 1874-87 and features the bust of the young queen Victoria. A similar bust was used 1839-50. The bust strongly resembles the one used on the crown but the half crown was issued in much larger numbers.

Recorded mintage: 2,189,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 14.14 g, 0.925 fine silver, .420 troy oz ASW.
