Great Britain 1717 1/2 crown

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70678

This specimen was lot 70678 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $312. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1717. George I (1714-27). PCGS VF-25 Secure Holder. Although this example circulated extensively, it is problem free with smooth surfaces and nice color." This type was issued 1715, 1717 and 1720.
