This specimen was lot 72045, in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1717. London Mint. George I. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. Roses and plumes. A breathtaking specimen, this near choice example exhibits a tremendous array of shimmering peripheral iridescence, especially on the reverse which features electric cobalt in and around the legends. The finest certified by PCGS. From the Regent Crest Collection." This type is also known dated 1720/17.
