This specimen was lot 10402 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $634. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1706. PCGS VF-35 Secure Holder. Anne (1702-14). Roses and welsh plumes in angles. Toned." The famous crown of queen Anne was the VIGO issue, made from from silver seized from Spanish ships in Vigo Bay during the War of the Spanish Succession. Other crowns were minted 1705-08 and 1713; all are scarce to rare.
