This specimen was part of lot 27639 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $558.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Anne to George II silver coins, various types, average grade VF and toned." The threepence was struck for queen Anne 1703-13 in sufficient numbers that it is fairly common today. It would survive as a silver coin into the reign of George V and is still struck in silver for the Maundy sets.
