This specimen was lot 23984 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $10,868.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Anne gold 5 Guineas 1706, Post Union, Genuine 'Mount Removed' PCGS, sharply detailed." Five guineas were issued only sporadically in the eighteenth century and all are rare. Amazingly, two types are listed for 1706, the other (KM 520.2) showing the arms of England and Scotland on separate shields on the reverse.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
