This specimen was lot 75500 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 4 Pence, 1678. London Mint. Charles II. PCGS MS-62. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck 1670-84 with many varieties and overdates. The groat would gradually be superseded by the sixpence but survives today in the Maundy sets.
