This specimen was lot 140 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 110,000 CHF (about US$133,518 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Grossbritannien | Königreich. Charles II. 1660-1685. 5 Guineas 1678/7, London. TRICESIMO. First laureate bust, with elephant and castle below. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS61. (kingdom of Great Britain, Rare, especially in this condition.)"
This type was struck 1675-78. There is a similar type (KM 443.1) struck during the same years (including 1678) without the elephant and castle added below the king's bust which marked gold obtained from Africa.
