Steve Album sale 51, lot 1051

This specimen was lot 1051 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $510. The catalog description[1] noted, "ENGLAND: Charles II, 1660-1685, AR crown, 1675/3, rims a bit weak, extremely rare variety (overdate), Very Good, R5 (Bull), ex Michael More Collection." This type was struck 1671-80. The SCWC lists the overdate for less than the regular date but both are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: 30.10 g, 0.925 fine silver, edge lettered with regnal year ("VICESIMO SEPTIMO").
