This specimen was lot 1154 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 26,000 CHF (about US$31,161 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, Charles II. 1660-1685. 5 Guineas 1675, London. V. SEPTIMO. First laureate bust, with elephant below. Rare. NGC AU50." This type was struck 1668-69 and 1675 with the elephant and represented an enormous amount of money at the time and still does today. Five guineas without an elephant and castle below the bust also exist for 1675.
