This specimen was lot 30961 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles II 6 Pence 1675/4 AU58 NGC. A pleasing specimen of this slightly scarcer Charles II denomination; deemed "rare" within ESC, this is the overdate variety where a 5 has been punched over an earlier 4 in the date. The sharp portrait of the King shows little actual wear, and indeed one is inclined to believe that this coin has been somewhat conservatively graded, showing attractive original surfaces overla[i]d with a silvery-gold mottled patina and a good strike." This type was struck 1674-84 in some numbers and is pretty reasonable in circulated condition but choice examples, as always, are expensive.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.01 g, 0.925 fine silver, 21 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 441, S-3382, ESC-1514.
