Great Britain (1632-33) crown Dav-3762
This specimen was lot 33763 in Heritage sale 3098 (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Charles I Crown ND (1632-1633) VF30 NGC, Tower mint, Harp over Plume mm. An appealing example displaying balanced circulation wear, with all major elements of the central designs discernible and bordered by deeper gunmetal tone residing in the outer border. Incorrectly labeled as S-2757 on holder insert. Sold with Michael S. Tallent Collection lot tag. Ex. Michael S. Tallent Collection (Stack's April 2008, Lot 57); Purchased from Martin Cooke in April 2005." The silver crowns of Charles I come in many varieties, all rare. This one has the garnished oval arms of Britain with a plume and monogram above the arms. England and France are in quadrants 1 and 4, Scotland is in quadrant 2 and Ireland in quadrant 3.
