This specimen was lot 46253 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. 5 Mark, 1951-G. Karlsruhe Mint. NGC PROOF-66 Cameo." This type was struck for the Bundesrepublik 1951, 1956-74 at Munich (D), Stuttgart (F), Karlsruhe (G) and Hamburg (J). There are plain edge errors (KM 112.2) for various dates.

Recorded mintage: 13,840,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 11.2 g, 0.625 fine silver, 29 mm diameter, lettered edge.
