This specimen was lot 3071 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Federal Republic, AE 2 pfennig, 1950-F, a superb proof quality example! PCGS graded Proof 65 RD CAM, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was produced at four mints (Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Hamburg) in 1950 in such numbers that no more were struck until 1958. The Stuttgart mintmark was "F". The type was retired in 1969 in favor of copper-plated steel.
Recorded mintage: 30,278,000 plus 200 proofs.
Specification: 3.25 g, bronze, 19.25 mm diameter.
