Steve Album Auction 52, lot 2625

This specimen was lot 2625 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $54. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Third Reich, 5 reichspfennig, 1936-F, blazing luster, tiny obverse spot, Choice Unc." This type, originated during the Weimar Republic, was struck 1924-26, 1930, 1935-36. This type was superseded in 1936 by an explicitly Nazi design (KM 91) used 1936-39. The Stuttgart mint produced only KM 39 in 1936.

Recorded mintage: 6,643,170, a common date.

Specification: 2.54 g, aluminum bronze, 18 mm diameter, plain edge.
