This specimen was lot 2624 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $30. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Third Reich, AE 2 reichspfennig, 1936-D, KM-38, full red with minimal spotting, Choice Unc." This type, originated during the Weimar Republic, was struck 1924-25 and 1936. This type was superseded in 1936 by an explicitly Nazi design (KM 90) used 1936-40.
Recorded mintage: 6,525,000 including KM 90.
Specification: 3.34 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter, plain edge.
