Künker sale 264, lot 4219

This specimen was lot 4219 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,679 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"2 Reichsmark 1927, D. RR Sehr schön. (Germany, Weimar republic, two reichsmark of 1927. Rare, very fine.)"

This product of the Munich mint is a rare date of an otherwise common type struck 1925-27 and 1931. When coinage of the two reichsmark resumed in 1933, it was 8 g, 0.625 fine silver.

Recorded mintage: 466,000.

Specification: 10 g, 0.500 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.
