This specimen was lot 22435 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. 3 Mark, 1927-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS PROOF-64 Secure Holder. Struck to commemorate the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Nordhausen. Deep reflectivity exists in the fields with olive golden tone atop the obverse and reverse." This specimen did not realize any where near the catalog value.
Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus proofs, a better type.
Specification: 15 g, 0.500 fine silver, .239 troy oz ASW, 30 mm diameter.
