This specimen was lot 32971 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "Weimar Republic 'Bremerhaven' 3 Mark 1927-A MS65 NGC, Berlin mint. Slightly frosty and lustrous surfaces make this gem a superb example of the type." This type, issued in 1927, was struck in Berlin ("A") along with a similar five mark (Dav-967). It is somewhat expensive; perhaps they were melted during World War Two.
