Germany 1925-G 5 mark
This specimen was lot 3021 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, AR 5 reichsmark, 1925-G, commemorating the 1000th Year of the Rhineland, medallic alignment, a wonderful lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS64, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was the first five mark struck by the Weimar Republic, which would use this denomination to issue numerous commemoratives until 1932. The Rhineland, then under French occupation, was a sensitive topic among patriotic Germans.
Recorded mintage: 89,000 plus proofs, a better date.
Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver, 37 mm diameter.
