This specimen was lot 25042 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Geneva. 6 Florins, 1795-W. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Beautiful old cabinet tone with hues of blue in the peripheries. Quite a lovely example." This type was struck during a French-sponsored revolution which toppled the old oligarchy. This issue, tho denominated six florins, was meant to trade as a half thaler.
