Künker sale 263, lot 1942

This specimen was lot 1942 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"GELDERN Provinz. Silberdukat 1767. Sehr schön +. (provine of Gelderland, silver ducat of 1767. Very fine or better.)"

The SCWC lists this type, one of several variations on this denomination, for 1734-85. It is not priced as rare but turns up less often than the silver ducats of other provinces.

Recorded mintage: 1,235,000 for 1766-71.

Specification: 28.25 g, 0.873 fine silver.
