This specimen was lot 2424 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Karolin (10 Gulden) 1735. Sehr schön. (very fine.)" The abbot of Fulda issued gold coins at irregular intervals and the survivors are today rare. In 1752 he was promoted to bishop. This type is listed for 1734-35. A carolin d'or was ten gulden.
