This specimen was lot 871 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,325 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Fulda, ABTEI, Adolph von Dalberg, 1726-1737. Reichstaler 1729. Mit Kerbrand. RR Winz. Randfehler, vorzüglich. (abbey of Fulda, Adolf of Dalberg, 1726-37, thaler of 1729, with notched edge. Rare, minor edge defects, extremely fine.)"
The abbot of Fulda issued thalers at irregular intervals and the survivors are today rare. In 1752 he was promoted to bishop. This type is listed for 1728-29 and 1737 in various varieties (Dav-2256 thru -2260).
Recorded mintage: unknown but rather scarce.
