This specimen was lot 23625 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,993.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bamberg. Friedrich Carl gold 10 Gulden 1735, AU Details (Mount Removed) PCGS Genuine, variety with value as 10 Gul. Nicely toned with well-struck details, small mount trace at the top. Very rare type and quite attractive despite the blemish." In 1735-36, the bishop (who was also bishop of Wurzburg), issued a series of gold 2½, five and ten gulden (= carolin d'or) for an occasion now forgotten. All are rare.
