This specimen was lot 957 in Jean Elsen sale 122 (Brussels, September 2014), where it sold for €120 (about US$184 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Charles X (1824-1830), AR 2 francs, 1829 W, Lille. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Charles X (1824-30), silver two francs of 1829, Lille mint, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1825-30 and most of the seventy known dates are rare. This one from the Lille mint is fairly common for the type.

Recorded mintage: 104,583[2].

Specification: 27 mm diameter, 10 grams, 0.900 fine silver, .289 troy oz ASW.
