This specimen was lot 1239 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for € 440 (about US$688 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"FRANCE ROYALE, Louis XV (1715-1774), AV demi-louis d'or aux lunettes, 1731 9, Rennes. Droit: B. drapé à gauche, tête nue. Revers: Ecus ovales de France et de Navarre sous une couronne. Rare. Très Beau. (Kingdom of France, Louis XV, gold half louis d'or "of the eyeglasses" of 1731, Rennes mint. Obverse: draped bust to left, bare head; reverse: oval arms of France and Navarre beneath a crown. Rare, very fine.)"

Droulers[2] awards this date no premium as all the dates of this type after 1726 are rare. The Rennes mint struck this type 1726-33 and is among the more available mints.
