This specimen was lot 31341 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "France: Louis XV gold Louis d'Or 1731-T MS61 NGC, Nantes mint. Adjustment marks are visible on both sides of this specimen, but an emboldened strike has prevented them from obscuring the designs. Both sides of the planchet are adorned in lemon-gold color, giving this highly desirable example a warm glow throughout." This type is recorded for 1726-40 and is among the more common gold coins of the French ancien régime. This date is listed as common.

Specification: 8.16 g, 0.917 fine gold, 20 mm diameter, reeded edge.
