This specimen was lot 41118 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Louis d'Or, 1729-A. Paris Mint. Louis XV. NGC AU-58. Ex: Salton Collection." The louis d'or aux lunettes was introduced in 1726 and was struck at all the mints until 1740. This product of the Paris mint is common.

Recorded mintage: 309,200.

Specification: 8.15 g, 0.917 fine gold, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by J. C. Röettiers.
