Shown is a cinquième d'écu aux branches d'olivier ("fifth écu with olive wreath") struck at the Paris mint (mintmark "A") during the reign of Louis XV of France. The fifth écu was the ancien régime version of a twenty cent piece tho never struck in sufficient numbers to really convert France to a decimal currency.

Recorded mintage: 266,928 (common).

Specification: 5.89 g, 0.917 fine silver, reeded edge, designed by J.-C. Röettiers.
