This specimen was lot 99108 in Heritage sale 61253 (Dallas, January 2022), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "France: Louis XIV gold 1/2 Louis d'Or 1648-A AU Details (Removed From Jewelry) NGC, Paris mint. Centrally struck upon a symmetrical and glimmering planchet, the design motifs crisply contoured and lending an impression of boldness to this modestly circulated specimen."
